Beautifully Broken

2019 – Beautifully Broken – Bailey Contemporary Arts, Pompano Beach, FL 

Beautifully Broken seeks to explore the complexities of mental health through the works created by eight contemporary artists. It aims to explore the impact that mental health is having on society and the role the arts can play to both encourage positive self-expression and guide effective mental health promotion.

-beautifully broken- examines creative responses to mental health conditions through the inclusion of artworks made by artists who have been diagnosed or those who have been in- directly affected by these conditions. The exhibit highlights a variety of techniques and forms that include innovative art expressions rooted in traditional craft materials, as well as art that explores unexpected relationships between craft and painting, silk screen, sculpture, conceptual and art installations.

The goal with -beautifully broken is to create a safe environment to raise awareness and advocate against social stigma.
